A Must See!

This is absolutely fantastic!  Everyone at PetsPartnersAndPals.co.uk were in awe of this man.  Being a fearless terrier I didn't see what all the fuss was about!

One in eight men met a partner by using their pet to break the ice!

Research by The Sims  3 Pets revealed 81% of men think dogs are the best route to asking a woman out, one in eight men met a partner by using their pet to break the ice, one in three men think women are more likely to approach them and chat if they are walking a dog, one in seven thinks it makes them more attractive and gives them a better chance of getting a date and a quarter of men believe owning a pet shows the ladies they understand the meaning of responsibility and commitment.  At PetsPartnersAndPals.co.uk we wholeheartedly agree!

Circuses and Collie Dogs!

Glad to hear that MP's have voted on banning wild animals from circuses.  Wild animals need so much space to live in and travelling with a circus just does not fulfill that need.  On a lighter note PetsPartnersAndPals.co.uk  loved reading about Ci the collie sheepdog who is scared of sheep, just makes you want to bundle him up and give him a big hug.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home

Hi everyone, just to  let you know that Battersea Dogs and Cats Home have had a fire in their laundry room meaning they can't use it for quite a while.  No-one was hurt, all animals and staff were evacuated in time, but they are in urgent need of clean bedding and blankets.  Any donations would be most welcome.  Love Noodles  and all at PetsPartnersAndPals.co.uk

Rabbit Awareness Week!

Remember everyone it's rabbit awareness week.  A study commissioned by several animal welfare groups including the RSPCA have discovered that 75% of the two million pet rabbits in the UK are badly cared for and misunderstood, living in cramped conditions and becoming sick because of being fed the wrong kind of food.  So sad that so many people don't realise rabbits are intelligent, sociable creatures who need space, mind you it seems the pet industry who make the hutches doesn't realise this either.  These small hutches should be completely banned!  My best friends, Bill and Ben the Rabbit Men each have their own large chicken coop which act as brilliant hutches as they can run around and stand up on their back legs.  What they really love is the way we fill their coops up with masses and masses of straw and they make nests and burrows in the straw.  Love Noodles x

Tall men get the dates!

Working hard at PetsPartnersAndPals.co.uk Noodles has been debating on the latest study by Utah University that says women are attracted to tall men because they are reminded of violent ape-like ancestors.  Everyone disagreed, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney are both 5'11" and  don't strike us as ape-like!  Noodles quite agrees.  Anyway being on the short side herself, Noodles thinks tall isn't everything!!!!

Not a sore paw in sight!

Snoozing is the call of this month as Noodles has completed a 13.5 mile sponsored walk for Help the Heroes!  Such a feat is definitely a good excuse to take possession of the best armchair in the house, plump up those wonderful cushions and contemplate a deed well done.  Crossing the finishing line had nothing to do with the fact that a pork pie was waiting on the other side!!!

All worn out!!!!!

Fantastic Week!

Hope everyone had a great Easter.  I certainly did, barbecue for lunch followed by afternoon tea - just fantastic! And now we've got the Royal Wedding coming up which will mean more celebratory food, more crumbs and again I will have to bring my superb hoovering skills into play - life is pretty wonderful this week.  Noodles xx

Afternoon Tea, picnics and sunshine!

One of the best things in life for a dog is a picnic lunch in the sunshine, where crumbs fall blissfully onto the rug and you are allowed to hoover everything up.  Now imagine if I tried to do that with the dining room table!  The picnic should then be followed by afternoon tea, in particular ham sandwiches (cucumber are not so great and did I mention that those little sausages on sticks for the picnic are an absolute must!).  The whole ensemble should be finished off by a gentle snooze with your rather full tummy in a nice shady spot.  Life does not get much better than that!

Snoring!

I'm in deep trouble, woke all the family last night with my snoring!  Apparently, it was terrible.  Personally, I think it was Dad and he's using me as a cover up!

A Walk in the Mist!

We'll take you on a walk to your favourite place they said, it will be fun they said - I can't see a thing!

Then by sheer good fortune on lower ground I saw DUCKS and who cares that the fog has made one's fur go crazy, or you're feeling slightly damp and soggy; where ducks are concerned it's straight in that river and go for it!

Doris Banham Rescue Centre

Wow, I've just been contacted by Amy Scotney from the Doris Banham Rescue Centre kindly saying how much she liked PetsPartnersAndPals.co.uk.  Interested, I had a look at their site and the work these guys do is just amazing.  They try and rescue all those unclaimed dogs in pounds who are about to be put to sleep forever and rehome them.  They are struggling at the moment because they are full to capacity and don't have enough funds to expand.  Click on the link and have a look at the site it is quite incredible.  Love Noodles xx

Dog Hotels!

Wow, this looks like a serious dog hotel to me.  I can see myself now swanning around having massages, in the pool, shopping around Paris - oh yes I could do rich - now where's that lottery ticket?  What do you mean at five I'm not old enough?

I'm in deep trouble!

There are times when a dog has got to do what a dog has got to do!  Maybe I shouldn't have wandered off at half past eleven at night, I know they all thought I had gone to the little girl's room.  It's just sometimes one gets overwhelmed by a desperation to not only dig, but to find somewhere really good to dig and there was a sixth sense that was telling me that place was not in my garden and I was right!  Anyway I did come back albeit forty five minutes later and I'm sure the neighbours didn't mind them wandering up and down the streets shouting 'Noodles!'  Ok, ok, I'm sorry!  BUT I LOVE TO DIG!!!!

Note the muddy chin!!!

A Dog's Workout!

Humans I hear work out in gyms.  Well this is my workout place, dog agility class and I am getting to be quite good at it!  I have to leap over jumps, weave through poles and run through tunnels.  I have to say this week I sussed the tunnel out well and truly, simple really.   Originally I thought you went in one end of the tunnel, came out the same end and followed your Mum down to the other end to check out why she was peering into the tunnel frantically calling your name.  This week it clicked you go in one end and out the other!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to one and all and here's hoping you have all received plenty of cards.  I have to say not only have I not received a card, but Dylan at dog training was not there today.  Wait till I see him next grrrrr!!!  Dog training went remarkably well I thought, especially as I haven't been for quite a while.  I managed a few jumps, the tunnel and a bit of weaving in and out of poles - anything for a little bit of hot dog!

Wishing you a good Valentine's evening and if you haven't got a date tonight, snuggle up on the sofa with the old duvet. log fire and peruse our dating site PetsPartnersandPals.co.uk and who knows tonight could be the start of a new romance.  Love Noodles xx

Sunday 13 February 2011

I have just read that dedicated dog owners end up walking more than 23,000 miles with their pet during its lifetime!  This is based on a study of 3,000 owners which shows that the average person walks their dog for 8 hours and 54 minutes a week, covering 36 miles.  If my arithmetic is correct, that's just over an hour and a quarter a day and just over 5 miles a day!  Hold on! I'm not sure what sort of terrain these people are crossing with their dogs but I'm rarely getting 5 miles in in 1 1/4 hours - must have a word with my owners!

Anyway, all of this apparently adds up to a staggering 1,855 miles a year or 23,739 miles - almost as far as walking around the world - in an average dog's lifetime of 12.8 years.  Fortunately (as you can see from my picture) I am still a young lassie with fine looks and many miles still to travel.  All this has got me thinking how much I (along with all my doggie friends) like walking and how much my owners like walking me.  I can go further, because often my owners meet up with other dog owners to go walking with me and their dogs.  That's no surprise really because loads of people like dog walking and loads of people like company!

The point is this - inevitably lots of people who take their dogs out for walks are single.  Since dog walking is such a popular pastime what a great idea it would be for single dog owners to get together and take their dogs for a walk for a first date!  It avoids any embarrassment which can follow from meeting someone in a bar for a first date.  Because we are there (the dogs) we become an immediate point of focus for the couple meeting up and an easy talking point, a great way to break the ice.  There is also very little pressure attached to dog walking; in fact, it is about the most relaxing pastime many of us experience.  It is in the fresh air and is a healthy way of passing the time with easy conversation.

This was one of the solid reasons that PetsPartnersAndPals was set up, a dating site for pet lovers dedicated to getting pet lovers together.  It's not just for dog owners, but numerous dog owners have joined us and all single pet lovers are welcome.  I am lucky enough to be 'the face' of PetsPartnersAndPals.  Just click here to have a look or click here to read the dog walking article. Love from Noodles X

Am I seeing things?

How brilliant is this?  It looks as if these kids are swimming with polar bears, but in reality there is a glass screen between them.  These two female bears, Aurora and Nikita, live at the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat in Canada where they were brought as cubs after a hunter shot their mother.  Letting visitors get this close to the bears is all part of a campaign to end hunting.  Fantastic idea, although Noodles thinks her knees would still be knocking despite the glass screen

Early Mornings!

Life is becoming very tough.  We are now getting up at six o'clock in the morning and going for a walk, to make matters worse I then have to be showered down when I get back because my paws are muddy.  Up at six, shower at seven - Noodles is exhausted!

Sunday 16 January 2011

Lazy Sundays!

My kind of a day.  Cooked breakfast (if you hang around long enough they're bound to drop a bit of sausage or bacon!), big long walk, roll in the mud (this is where I suffer from short term memory as I forget this means bath when I get back!) and then snooze the afternoon away in front of a log fire whilst it rains outside - life is so good.  And at least I'm not getting myself into trouble like this guy!

Australian Floods

Noodles is very concerned about all the poor people and animals suffering from the flooding in Australia.  She has two cat friends, Aragon Allie and Pumba, who live in Queensland and are safe at the moment, but it is very worrying.  It has been fantastic that despite all the stress and worry the Australians must be under they still have time to rescue and save the animals.  These photos are really heartwarming.

Noodles chilling!

Well today has been pretty miserable outside, wet and dismal and very, very boring.  So what does a girl do when presented with such conditions?  Well she accepts her lot and goes with the flow.  Puts on those headphones, does a bit of mixing and listening, the odd bit of fancy footwork (moving and a grooving) and just CHILLS!  Noodles is still in the building!

Sunday 9 January 2011

Hello from Noodles!

Hi there, I'm really excited to have my own dog blog where I can discuss important issues of the day, for instance why didn't I get any sausages for breakfast and what on earth is that pesky green woodpecker doing in MY garden again!  You have no idea how many trials and tribulations I have to endure sometimes.  So here is to the beginning of my dog blogging and sharing my thoughts with you all.  I'm just off to try and look cute, sweet and suffering from starvation as I think Dad is about to check out the fridge!  Love Noodles xx
